Pfannebecker

Pfannebecker Funeral HomePfannebecker Funeral Home is an independently owned and operated business that offers funeral, cremation and pre-arrangement services at a fair price.  We are small enough to care for families in a very personal manner, yet large enough to professionally manage all aspects of today’s complex funeral arrangements.

As one of the oldest continuously-operating businesses in Crawford County, Pfannebecker Funeral Home will celebrate its 100th year of service to the community in 2007.  The business was established in 1907 by Charles Bartcher and moved to its present location at 1425 Broadway – the former H.C. Laub residence – in 1926.  (As the former home of a leading Denison citizen, the home still exudes warmth and grandeur, with plush furnishings, antique furniture and original woodwork.)  In 1952, Mr. Bartcher sold the business to Harry and Ruth Maxwell, who operated the business as Maxwell Funeral Home for 26 years.  On June 1, 1978, current owner Dan C. Pfannebecker purchased the business.

Mr. Pfannebecker is a State of Iowa licensed funeral director and has been associated with funeral service since 1972.  Mr. Pfannebecker attends to all funeral arrangements personally.
